Sarah enjoyed your program very much. You are welcome to use this testimonial/Statement anyway you wish:
Sarah Talbott had the opportunity to participate in an EDventure program to Cambodia a couple years ago. We have hosted and employed a number of foreign students and interns over the years giving her rich international exposure and background prior to her experience in Cambodia. The Cambodia experience took this much further though stimulating an almost insatiable curiosity and excitement about other places and peoples throughout the world. She has become especially intrigued by older third world cultures. She is also interested in different climates, environments and the natural beauty many of these places offer and has a strong desire to experience these places.
Sarah has developed an impressive level of self-confidence as to her ability to take care of herself in many different situations. Cambodia opened up a very big and exciting world for her of which she has since spent time in Nicaragua, Chile and Peru. She has become much more comfortable putting herself into unknown environments.
She came home with an appreciation for how little it takes to survive and impressed with how happy many people can be while having very little. My observation over the years is that students who have the opportunity to participate in immersion experiences in third world communities are more able to deal with the adversities of life with a good attitude. One often learns as much about themselves as they do about the culture they are experiencing. I don’t know where Sarah will end up but I believe the experience and maturity derived from program will help her be more successful in whatever career path she ultimately takes and in living a richer life in general.
